Kristina Joksimovic murder: Swiss prosecutors have formally charged the husband of former Miss Switzerland finalist Kristina Joksimovic with her murder, nearly a year after her mutilated remains were discovered inside the couple’s home in Binningen. Authorities announced on Wednesday that the accused, identified only as Thomas, 43, under Swiss privacy laws, is alleged to have strangled his 38-year-old wife before dismembering her and attempting to dispose of the body through chemical dissolution.
According to court documents and the autopsy report, investigators believe the accused cut apart the model’s body using a jigsaw knife and garden shears, later chopping additional parts with an industrial blender. Officials said portions of the remains were “pureed” and dissolved in a chemical solution. Police recovered the blender alongside skin flaps with muscle tissue and bone fragments.
The autopsy concluded that Joksimovic had been strangled, with forensic specialists finding no evidence supporting Thomas’s claim that he acted in self-defence. Investigators further noted that her hip joints had been snapped, multiple limbs removed, her spine severed, and her body ultimately decapitated.
Disturbing Behaviour During the Crime
Prosecutors say Thomas was watching YouTube videos on his phone while dismembering his wife, as cited in official filings. Police described his conduct as a display of “remarkably high level of criminal energy, lack of empathy, and cold-bloodedness after killing his wife.”

The discovery of the body came after Joksimovic’s father reportedly spotted blonde hair protruding from a black bag in the laundry room, prompting him to alert authorities.
Thomas initially told police he had found his wife dead, later admitting to killing her in March but maintaining that he acted in self-defence. Forensic findings contradicted this statement and established strangulation as the cause of death.
The Basel-Landschaft Public Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that he has now been charged with murder and disturbing the peace, with a trial date yet to be scheduled. The couple shared two daughters, and Thomas remains in custody.
