Following the recent Lok Sabha elections results, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged victorious once again, solidifying Narendra Modi’s position as the Prime Minister.
M Chuba AO, the saffron party’s national Vice President and a prominent BJP leader, conveyed his congratulations and shared his insights on the outcome, emphasizing that the mandate was largely anticipated by the party.
He mentioned that although there were areas where results could have been slightly better, the overall victory was in line with expectations.
Chuba attributed the success to the unwavering belief in performance-driven governance, which he stated was exemplified by Narendra Modi. He said, “Narendra Modi’s victory reinforces the belief that the people of India want performance. The electorate wants results.”
Reflecting on why Modi resonates so strongly with the public, Chuba highlighted the relentless efforts of BJP karyakartas. He expressed deep gratitude to these dedicated party workers, who, without any financial incentives, tirelessly propagated Modi’s vision across the nation.
Chuba remarked that this grassroots effort was instrumental in connecting with the electorate and conveying the party’s message effectively.
Discussing Modi’s appeal, Chuba pointed out that since 2014, Modi has been pivotal in transforming the country. Over the past decade, his administration has brought significant improvements, such as providing cooking gas and toilets to women, leading the Swachh Abhiyan (Clean India Mission), and enhancing infrastructure like roads, rail stations, and airports.
He added that Modi’s leadership has elevated India’s prestige on the international stage and fostered stronger emotional integration, particularly in the North East, through regular visits by central leaders and ministers.
When asked about the impact of social media versus traditional media in shaping political narratives, Chuba acknowledged the enduring importance of the media. However, he critiqued a segment of the media for being blatantly partial and damaging its own credibility by supporting controversial figures. He noted that despite this, Modi has maintained a strong relationship with the media, having given around 80 interviews in just 45 days.
Regarding the opposition’s failure to build an effective narrative, Chuba elaborated that their strategy was primarily negative. He criticised the Congress party for neglecting grassroots organisation and relying excessively on social media attacks against Modi, which did not translate into electoral success. He also pointed out the disunity among regional parties, which hindered their effectiveness as a cohesive opposition.
Chuba concluded by emphasizing that the BJP’s growth signifies the need for political parties to work harder and smarter. He praised Modi as a unifying figure who has strengthened India’s unity and thrilled the people with his efforts to maintain a single, united nation. This, he believed, was a key factor in the continued support for Modi and the BJP.
