SDMC paints walls of Lodhi Road Crematorium

New Delhi: South Delhi Municipal, in collaboration with Delhi Street Art, has come up with theme painting in front of Lodhi Road Crematorium. The mural expresses the universal truth of life and death, besides sending a message of eternal peace. With this artwork, South Delhi Municipal Corporation has been making the walls of city Graffiti/poster free. SDMC has also been making Swachhta related theme paintings on walls of corporation buildings, dhalao ghars, roundabouts, public toilets, etc in all four zones. With such initiatives, SDMC aims to ensure active participation of citizens to improve ranking in Swachh Survekshan-2022.


Besides this, SDMC has been running Swachhta related programmes including segregation of waste at source, ban on Single Use Plastic (SUP), composting of wet and dry waste. In South Delhi, 24 RWAs are successfully ensuring waste segregation in their respective colonies. Swachh Slum Awareness Campaign was organised in Lajpat Nagar. The civic body has also distributed green & blue dustbins and eco-friendly bags to area residents.


SDMC has also organised Swachhta cum Public Awareness Campaign in Mahipalpur Market to ensure segregation of waste at source level, cleanliness of public places, avoid use of SUP, etc. Members of Market Associations participated in the campaign, assured not to use SUP and to keep market premises clean.
