Opting to bat first on a sluggish and demanding pitch, South Africa faced an uphill battle as most of their batters struggled to find their rhythm. However, David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen turned the tide with a resilient 79-run partnership from as many balls. Klaasen’s composed innings of 46 runs from 44 deliveries and Miller’s contribution of 29 runs provided the backbone to South Africa’s innings.
With a modest total of 113 runs on the board, South Africa’s bowlers had their task cut out against Bangladesh’s batting lineup. Similar to Pakistan’s predicament against India, the Bangla Tigers found runs hard to come by on the challenging pitch.
