New Delhi: Amid reports of Russia suffering heavy losses of military might during their ongoing attack in Ukraine, the country has admitted that it has suffered significant troop losses. Russian forces, which have stepped up their attack in many parts of war-hit Ukraine, have been facing actions from countries across the world and the majority of Western and European countries have imposed sanctions since war broke out between the countries.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has reportedly accepted that the country has suffered troop losses. On the reports of rising death toll, he said, “we have significant losses of troops. It’s a huge tragedy for us.”

In a major blow, the United Nation General Assembly (UNGA) has suspended Russia from the UN Human Rights Council. The UNGA expressed its deep concern at the ongoing human rights and humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. Reacting over the development, Ukraine said that the country is ‘grateful’ for the move to suspend Russia. Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on Twitter,” Russia’s rights of membership in the UN Human Rights Council has just been suspended. War criminals have no place in UN bodies aimed at protecting human rights. Grateful to all member states which supported the relevant UNGA resolution and chose the right side of history.”

Russia is facing heat from across the world as the Ukraine has been accusing Russian forces of killing innocent civilians in its territory. Ukrainian authorities, after recently taking control of whole regions of Kyiv, had recovered 410 bodies of civilians. Meanwhile, Russia had denied killing civilians saying that the accusations were “another production of the Kyiv regime and the Western media.”

Ukraine had accused Russia of a “deliberate massacre” in the town of Bucha, 30 kilometer (19 miles) north-west of the capital city of Kyiv. Bucha Mayor Anatoly Fedoruk had earlier told the media that 280 bodies were buried in mass graves.

Though Russia promised to cut down its military operations in Kyiv and Chernihiv after talks between negotiators in Turkey’s Istanbul, Russian forces have reportedly intensified its attack in various parts of the war affected country.
