Kerala minister denies sending anyone to study Delhi’s education model

Kerala has not sent anyone to learn about the ‘Delhi Model’. At the same time, all assistance was provided to officials who had visited from Delhi to study the ‘Kerala Model’ last month, said Education Minister V Sivankutty.

AAP MLA Atishi on Saturday tweeted that officials from Kerala visited a Delhi government school in Kalkaji

New Delhi: A day after AAP MLA Atishi’s claim that officials from Kerala schools have visited a Delhi government school in Kalkaji, Kerala’s General Education Minister V Sivankutty on Sunday said the state had not sent anyone to learn about Delhi’s education model.

Sivankutty claimed that the state government has net sent any official to Delhi to know how schools are being managed by Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government in the national Capital. Atishi, in a tweet, had said that the officials from Kerala are keen to implement Delhi’s model of education in their state.

Raising eyebrow over Atishi’s tweet, Kerala minister tweeted, “Kerala’s Dept of Education has not sent anyone to learn about the ‘Delhi Model’. At the same time, all assistance was provided to officials who had visited from Delhi to study the ‘Kerala Model’ last month. We would like to know which ‘officials’ were welcomed by the AAP MLA.”

Replying to Sivankutty’s tweet, Atishi further tweeted, “Dear Sivankutty ji, It would have been good if you had done a fact check before tweeting on this issue. You might want to have a look at our press release to see what we actually said!

In another tweet, she said, “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Specialised Excellence, Kalkaji, was visited yesterday by Mr. Victor T.I, Regional Secy of CBSE School Management Association and Dr. M. Dinesh Babu, Confederation of Kerala Sahodaya Complexes.”

Reacting over the issue, opposition BJP said that the AAP leader is faking the visit as Kerala minister has denied any such delegation visited the state. Delhi BJP president, taking a jibe, tweeted, “Heard someone came from Kerala..?”
