IMD has predicted rain, thunderstorm in these states

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted rainfall and thunderstorm over Odisha on Friday and Saturday, West Bengal and Sikkim on Friday, Jharkhand and Telangana Friday and Saturday and Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh from Friday to Sunday.

The weathermen also predicted rainfall in Vidarbha on Saturday and Sunday, in West Madhya Pradesh and Konkan and Goa from Friday to Monday, in East Rajasthan from Friday to Tuesday, in West Rajasthan on August 22 and 23, in Madhya Maharashtra from Saturday to Monday, in Gujarat Region from Sunday to Tuesday and Saurashtra and Kutch on August 23.

In a statement, the IMD said, “Isolated or scattered heavy to very heavy rainfall likely over Odisha, Jharkhand and Vidarbha on Saturday, East Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan, Konkan and Goa and Madhya Maharashtra on Sunday, Gujarat Region on Sunday and Monday and West Rajasthan on Tuesday.”

It added, “Isolated extremely heavy rainfall also likely over north Odisha, southwest Gangetic West Bengal and southeast Jharkhand on Saturday, north Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh on Sunday and over West Madhya Pradesh on Monday and East Rajasthan on Tuesday.”

“Fairly widespread or widespread light or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm or lightning very likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Saturday and Sunday. Scattered or fairly widespread light or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm or lightning very likely over north Haryana and Chandigarh, East Uttar Pradesh on Saturday and Sunday and West Uttar Pradesh on Sunday,” the IMD said.

“Scattered or fairly widespread light or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm or lightning very likely over Assam and Meghalaya on Saturday and Sunday and over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on Saturday and Sunday and on August 23,” the weathermen said.
