IIMCAA Bengal hosts alumni meet, IAS Saumitra Mohan felicitated

Members of IIMC Alumni Association (Bengal chapter) organised a meeting in Kolkata on Sunday

Kolkata: The West Bengal chapter of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication’s (IIMC) Alumni Association hosted its annual meet, Koo Connections Kolkata 2022, on Sunday at a city hotel. Connections is a series of alumni meets of the IIMC Alumni Association, being organised across India and abroad.

The interaction took place over lunch and was attended by IIMC alumni working in journalism, academics, PR, bureaucracy and other fields. During the interaction the need for having chapter meetings more frequently was felt in order to create a think tank of media personnel.

Senior IAS officer Dr Saumitra Mohan was also felicitated for being a part of the silver jubilee alumni batch of the IIMC.

Meanwhile, the IFFCO IIMCAA Award Jury Special Mention for Agriculture Reporting was presented to Shaswata Kundu Chaudhuri. Chapter President Subhro Niyogi chaired the meeting that was addressed by chapter General Secretary Mohammed Safi Shamsi, Subir Ghosh, Subir Bhaumik, Snehasis Sur, Dhrubajyoti Pal, Ashok Bhattacharya, Biswajit Matilal, Pramod Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Piyali Chatterjee, Ritesh Verma, Shreesh Chandra Singh and others.
