‘Free’ water promise was fake, and a big lie, which he has now admitted: Delhi Congress

New Delhi: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Anil Kumar said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s admission that every household would get potable tap water round the clock henceforth by “storing rain water” nails his own lie of providing “free” drinking water. He said that this proves that for the past eight years, Delhiites were getting water unfit for human consumption, and his promise of giving free drinking water to every house, was a big lie.  He said that most households, who get piped water, either had to set up water purifiers or buy bottled water, as Arvind’s free water promise was a big sham.

He said that for the past few years, people have been complaining of getting drain water on their taps unfit for even washing utensils, and the fact that vector-borne diseases like Dengue are prevalent even in February, shows that Chief Minister made a false promise to provide free water, like his umpteen other fake promises. He said that when Congress was in power, people used to get potable tap water, at least twice every day, but now the water they get, that too sporadically, is filthy and toxic.

He said that CM Arvind, who went around Assembly-election bound States and promised “free” water and power, dug tube-wells to help the tanker mafia, controlled by AAP MLAs, who supplied brackish water to many colonies, including unauthorized and resettlement colonies, and JJ Clusters, charging exorbitant rates. He said that people were forced to depend on the tanker mafia, as they were left with no other choice.
