Free quality education if you vote for us: Arvind Kejriwal in Gujarat

Kejriwal also promised to make the infrastructure of the existing government schools better and set up a large number of new schools across the state if his party comes to power.

Arvind Kejriwal had earlier promised 300 units of free and uninterrupted electricity in Gujarat

Bhuj: Free quality education for all students at government schools in Gujarat if you vote for Aam Aadmi Party, said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as a part of a pre-poll promise while interacting with people at a town hall at Bhuj in Kutch district on Tuesday.

Kejriwal also promised to make the infrastructure of the existing government schools better and set up a large number of new schools across the state if his party comes to power after the Assembly polls slated to be held by the year-end.

The Delhi Chief Minister added that if AAP is elected to power in Gujarat, all private schools will be audited and forced to return the “extra money” that were collected from the parents. He said something similar has been done in Delhi too. Services of contractual teachers will also be regularised, the national convenor of AAP said. Kejriwal added teachers will not be given non-teaching jobs.

In his earlier visit, Arvind Kejriwal had promised 300 units of free and uninterrupted electricity. He also said that pending electricity bills till December 31, 2021 will be waived and promised an announcement on the power bills of farmers on his next visit to Gujarat.

Reacting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s jibe at the politics of giving out freebies, Kejriwal had said, “Revdi is a prasad. We give it to the people in the form of good schools, good hospitals and free electricity.”

Claiming that around 70%-80% of the pending power bills are fake, Kejriwal said, “There are people who have received Rs 50,000 bills. To make settlement of such bills, consumers have to approach babus and bribe them. We will not let this happen under our watch if you elect us to power.”
