New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party rallied behind Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain as the BJP unleashed a malicious hate campaign against him today. AAP National Convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal came out in support of his minister and criticised the Prime Minister for using the muscle of central agencies for political gains.

The Delhi CM tweeted, “the Prime Minister is on a witch hunt against the Aam Aadmi Party with full force. We’re seeing vicious campaigns especially against the governments of Delhi and Punjab. Lies are being spread over and over. He may have the muscle of all his agencies but God is with us.”

At the same time, AAP Chief Spokesperson and MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj accused the BJP of twisting the facts and said, “ED’s raid at Shri Satyendar Jain’s house was a complete failure. Only Rs 2.79 lakh were found by ED, which could not be seized as every penny was accounted for. ED conducted search operations at Satyendar Jain’s house from 7 in the morning to 2 in the night but could not find anything incriminating against him. PM Modi’s ED gave a clean chit to Shri Satyendar Jain through its Seizure Memo. It clearly states that Rs 2.79 lakh were found but not seized as they were accounted for. Modi Government’s image was shattered at the international level due to BJP so it started a fake news campaign against Jain claiming cash & gold was found in the raid.”

AAP National Convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal asserted his faith in the path of truth and honesty as he criticised the Prime Minister for using the muscle of central agencies for political gains. He tweeted, “At present, the Prime Minister is on a witch hunt against the Aam Aadmi Party with full force. We’re seeing vicious campaigns especially against the governments of Delhi and Punjab. Lies are being spread over and over. He may have the muscle of all his agencies but God is with us.”

AAP chief spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj addressed the press as the BJP took to its slander campaign. He accused the BJP of twisting the facts and said, “the ED raided Satyendar Jain’s residence at 7 on Monday. The raid went on till 2 in the night, in his absence when only his wife and daughter were present at the house. Shri Satyendar Jain remains in ED custody as of date. This raid happened despite the fact that his house had been raided multiple times in the past by central agencies none of which found anything against him. It has been almost a day since the raid but the ED did not reveal what they had found. If they raided the house then they must have found something or would have declared a failed raid.”

He lashed out at the BJP for spreading fake news all over social media to malign the AAP. He called the move to have been birthed out of bigotry but as a measure of saving face after facing insult on international levels. “The BJP on the other hand is a nexus of bigots of such high calibre that they started their vicious campaign today. After all, the Centre had chosen its favorite puppet for the job and had to save the image of the Centre and the ED. These bigots have already destroyed the country’s image on the international level, so it was imperative to save face somewhere. Thus began their tactic of rapidly spreading lies. A rumor is floating all over saying ‘ED found cash, ED found gold coins’. But these people are refusing to tell what the ED found at Shri Satyendar Jain’s residence,” he said.

Bhardwaj further shared information from the ‘Seizure Memo’ of the ED. He clarified that nothing was found in the raid. And whatever cash the ED recovered was accounted for and returned. He added, “In such a circumstance, it is necessary to take note of the ‘Punchnama’ or the ‘Seizure Memo’ of the ED. This document is authenticated in presence of two independent witnesses and contains a list of items recovered during the raid and subsequent action. This report is presented to the person on whom the raid has been conducted but as Jain was in custody, they handed it over to his wife and daughter. The memo states, ‘as a result of the search, various documents, one digital device and two locker keys were seized. Indian currency totalling 2 lacs 79 thousands and 200 rupees was also recovered during the search. However, the same was not seized.’ All they could find at his house was ₹ 2,79,200 and that too was accounted for and thus the ED could not seize it. This is nothing but a clean chit of the ED to  Jain after the search.” He went ahead to call the raid and the subsequent fake news to be a desperate move of spreading lies. “BJP’s Central Government felt insulted that despite their best efforts they couldn’t find anything against him. They searched his house from 7 in the morning to 2 in the night yet had nothing to implicate him in. But they still had to save their face from such a disgrace. So BJP leaders started spreading lies on social media to slander the AAP,” he concluded
