ED recovers Rs 20 crore in cash at house of West Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee’s associate

According to the initial reports, the ED team has been taking help of bank staffs to count the cash recovered from there. Cash counting machines have also been brought to count the notes.

ED on Friday found nearly Rs 20 crore in cash from premises of close aide of WB Minister Partha Chatterjee

Kolkata: Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday recovered Rs 20 crore from the residence of West Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee’s close aide Arpita Mukherjee. The probe agency found the cash after it carried out raid at Arpita’s residential premises in connection with the West Bengal School Service Commission and West Bengal Primary Education Board.

As per the reports, the recovered amount is suspected to be proceeds of crime of said SSC Scam. Images released by the ED show huge amount of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 denomination notes
that have been recovered from Arpita Mukherjee’s premises.

Enforcement Directorate, in a tweet, said, “ED is carrying out search operations at various premises linked to recruitment scam in the West Bengal School Service Commission and West Bengal Primary Education Board.”

According to the initial reports, the ED team has been taking help of bank staffs to count the cash recovered from there. Cash counting machines have also been brought to count the notes. The probe agency has reportedly recovered dozen of phones from the premises and are ascertaining the exact reason of their use and availability. Additionally, documents, records, details of few companies, foreign currencies, several devices and gold have also been found from the house belonging to the aide of TMC heavyweight and West Bengal Minister Partha Chaterjee.

According to the reports, the ED has also been searching Parth Chatterjee’s in this connection and have conducted raid at premises of MoS education Paresh Adhikari’s residence in Cooch Behar district. The agency has also been searching premises of former OSD of Partha Chatterjee PK Bandopadhyay, former personal secretary Sukanta Acharjee, Chandan Mondal, Ranjan, both agents related to the job scam and several other prominent persons for their alleged involvement in the scam.
