Earthquake across Nepal, northern India; tremors last for 30 seconds

The Delhi NCR region also recorded a 5.8-magnitude tremor.

New Delhi: With the epicenter in Nepal, entire national capital region, northern part of the country mainly Uttar Pradesh and Uttrakhand on Tuesday witnessed strong tremors. According to the reports, the magnitude of tremor was 5.8 on Richter scale.  The Delhi NCR region also recorded a 5.8-magnitude tremor. The earthquake were felt at around 2:28 pm across the Delhi-NCR and it  was lasted for almost 30 seconds. People living across the region were forced to to rush out of their homes and offices in panic.

“Earthquake of Magnitude:5.8, Occurred on 24-01-2023, 14:28:31 IST, Lat: 29.41 & Long: 81.68, Depth: 10 Km ,Location: Nepal,” informed National Center for Seismology in a tweet.

Though there were strong tremors but no causality has been reported yet from any part of the affected region.

“Kabhi pata hi nahi chalta.. waise hi zindagi mein itni utha-patak hai #earthquake,” tweeted Anand Prakash.
