Delhi government to revamp gaushala with state of the art infrastructure

Kheda Dabur’s Hare Krishna Gaushala will be developed as Delhi’s first model Gaushala

Moving forward in this direction, the next step of the government is to develop Delhi’s gaushalas as model gaushalas

New Delhi: Delhi Development Minister Gopal Rai on Wednesday visited the Hare Krishna gaushala at Kheda Dabur in Najafgarh. It has been proposed that this Gaushala be developed as the model Gaushala for Delhi. A solar power plant and a biogas plant will also be installed in this model Gaushala of Delhi. Along with this, compost will also be made from the residues released from the biogas. After taking stock of the Gaushala, the Development Minister inaugurated the 500 KW power plant built on the old structure of the Gaushala.

Speaking about his visit and the future plans for Delhi’s Gaushalas, Rai said, “The Kejriwal government is taking solid steps to develop Delhi as a model city. Moving forward in this direction, the next step of the government is to develop Delhi’s gaushalas as model gaushalas. This will not only give a proper environment to the cattle of Delhi but will also provide various employment opportunities to a large number of people.”

He elaborated, “In the first phase of transforming Delhi’s gaushalas into model gaushalas, the Hare Krishna Gaushala in Najafgarh will be developed. Following its model, rest of the Gaushalas will be developed in the future. This will include adequate provisions for the dwelling, feeding, treatment, and movement of the cows. These Gaushalas will be self-sufficient, with environmentally sustainable development. These Gaushalas will also give a fair chance to boost the earnings income of the people related to the maintenance of these sheds, as well as others in the field. In addition, farmers, animal keepers, and environmental guardians in these gaushalas will receive training on a regular basis.”

While divulging the details about the Model Gaushala, the Delhi Development Minister said, “Hare Krishna Gaushala, which is located in Kheda Dabur, Najafgarh, Delhi, is roughly 24 acres in size. Hare Krishna Gaushala will be developed as a model Gaushala in Delhi. Various work initiatives will be carried out under this banner in order to develop the area. It primarily entails, among other things, generating approximately 5 MW of power from the Gaushala (of which 500 kW has now been built on the old Gaushala structure), establishing a biogas plant by IGL in front of the Gaushala’s main entry gate, and producing organic manure from the biogas plant’s remains. In addition to being equipped with modern amenities, this model Gaushala will give multiple employment options for those associated with it.”
