The impact proved fatal, and despite efforts by onlookers to rush him to a hospital, Surya succumbed to his injuries.
The incident occurred on Monday night, with Madhuri reportedly accompanied by a female friend in the car. After the accident, Madhuri’s friend engaged in a verbal altercation with bystanders who had gathered at the scene. Upon investigation, police reviewed CCTV footage which confirmed that the BMW involved was registered under the BMR (Beeda Masthan Rao) Group and bore Puducherry registration.
Madhuri was promptly arrested but was granted bail at the police station itself, a move that has drawn scrutiny and criticism from various quarters.
