New Delhi: Four persons were arrested for the murder of a 25-year-old man who was first chased and then stabbed to death on a busy Delhi road on Thursday. The police said the incident took place after an argument over urination on a wall.

The deceased, identified as Mayank, a student of hotel management, had engaged in a quarrel with the mother of one of the accused after she objected to him urinating on the wall. During the argument, Mayank reportedly abused the accused, Manish, and also slapped him during the argument.

Manish then called his friends and chased Mayank and his friend Vikas. The group caught hold of Mayank near the DDA market in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area and stabbed him to death in full public view and fled the spot.

The footage of the incident, caught on CCTV camera, was shared widely on social media. All the accused — Manish, Rahul, Ashish and Suraj — were identified with the help of the CCTV footage. During interrogation, they revealed the motive of the crime.

Mayank was taken to AIIMS, where he died during treatment.
