Vladimir Putin’s decision to deploy tactical nuclear weapons and their means of delivery in Belarus further increases tensions over Russian aggression against Ukraine. It is a further step towards drawing Belarus into the cogs of the Russian war machine, the Polish Foreign Ministry said in a tweet on Sunday said.

Moscow fired an array of weapons, including hypersonic missiles, in its broadest attack on Ukraine in weeks. At least nine people were killed and power was knocked out in multiple regions.

On September 30, Putin had announced annexation of four areas ofUkraine. The Russian President made announcement to this effect after holding ‘referendums’ last week.

It is reported that youths are fleeing the country and finding it difficult to get flight tickets, and a huge cavalcade of cars have piled up on the border with Georgia to cross over into that country to avoid the military services.

The announcement came barely a day after Russia-controlled regions in east and south Ukraine decided to hold votes on becoming integrated with Russia.

It is unclear when the attempt was made. This comes amid rumours revolving around Putin’s health and the possible threat to life have been flooding social media platforms.
