The BJP had suspended its national spokesperson Nupur Sharma and expelled its Delhi media head Naveen Kumar Jindal from the primary membership of the party following their derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad and Islam.

Jailed Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLAs Nawab Malik and Anil Deshmukh sought the Supreme Court’s permission to participate in the floor test.

The call for a floor test was impressed upon the Governor by Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday.

“Will take a serious view of all demolitions that took place after the Supreme Court decision was communicated to the mayor,” said the bench of Justices L N Rao and B R Gavai.
