Arvind Kejriwal’s aide, Bibhav Kumar, has been arrested by Delhi Police following allegations of assaulting Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. Maliwal’s FIR claims that Bibhav Kumar, who serves as the Delhi Chief Minister’s secretary, assaulted her during a visit to Kejriwal’s residence on Monday.
A senior police officer confirmed that Bibhav Kumar was apprehended from the Chief Minister’s residence around noon and taken to the police station for questioning.

Kumar’s lawyer, Karan Sharma, expressed frustration over the lack of communication from the police, despite their assurance of full cooperation. “We’ve not received any information from the police yet. We’ve sent them an e-mail that we will cooperate in the investigation,” Sharma told a news agency.
The incident has sparked significant political controversy. The BJP has criticised Arvind Kejriwal for his silence, with spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia calling him the “main criminal” for not taking action during the alleged assault. The party has also accused the AAP of protecting Kejriwal’s personal secretary despite substantial evidence.
CCTV footage from the Chief Minister’s house, showing an altercation between the staff and Swati Maliwal, has surfaced on social media, adding to the controversy.
