Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will undertake an official visit to the Russian Federation from December 8 to December 10, 2024, marking a significant step in strengthening India-Russia defense ties.
On December 10, 2024, Rajnath Singh will co-chair the 21st India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military and Military Technical Cooperation (IRIGC-M&MTC) alongside Russia’s Defence Minister Andrey Belousov in Moscow.
Commissioning of INS Tushil
On December 9, 2024, Rajnath Singh will commission the INS Tushil, India’s latest multi-role stealth guided missile frigate, at Yantra Shipyard in Kaliningrad.
The INS Tushil represents advanced India-Russia naval collaboration and enhances the Indian Navy’s operational capabilities in diverse maritime roles.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi will accompany the Defence Minister for this event.
Tributes to WWII Heroes
During his visit to Moscow, Rajnath Singh will pay homage at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a memorial honoring Soviet soldiers who perished during World War II.
Rajnath Singh will also meet and interact with members of the Indian diaspora in Russia, strengthening people-to-people ties and addressing the community’s contributions to fostering bilateral relations.
