Pune Porsche Crash: A team from Porsche inspected the car involved in a fatal accident in Pune on May 19, which resulted in the deaths of two engineers. The car, allegedly driven by a 17-year-old son of a Pune realtor, struck a man and a woman on a bike. Police have stated that the minor was speeding in a Porsche Taycan under the influence of alcohol.
The Porsche team submitted a report on Monday, confirming that there were no mechanical issues with the car. This inspection is part of the criminal investigation against the teenager, who remains in a remand home until Wednesday.
The Pune Porsche crash initial investigation
The accident claimed the lives of software engineers Ashwini Kostha and Aneesh Awadhiya, sparking nationwide outrage. The teen was initially granted bail within 15 hours of the accident under conditions seen as lenient: writing a 300-word essay, working with traffic police for 15 days, and undergoing psychiatric treatment and counseling for his drinking habit. However, the Juvenile Justice Board later modified its order, sending the teen to an observation home.
The arrests in the case
The minor’s mother, Shivani Agrawal, was arrested on June 1 for allegedly swapping her blood sample with her son’s during a medical test to determine his intoxication level. Police are attempting to recover the original blood sample, which was allegedly replaced to clear the teen of wrongdoing. Two doctors from Sassoon Hospital, including the head of the forensic department, have been arrested for their involvement in switching the blood samples to manipulate the report.

The teen’s father, Vishal Agrawal, a realtor, was arrested earlier in a related case and is accused of destroying evidence. The grandfather has been sent to 14-day judicial custody for his involvement. It is alleged that the grandfather and father threatened their driver, confiscated his phone, and forcibly confined him in their bungalow to coerce him into taking responsibility for the crime.
Background
The teen, who is now in an observation home as the Juvenile Justice Board considers the police request to try him as an adult, was captured on camera drinking shortly before the accident and allegedly spent Rs 48,000 at a pub. During interrogation, he has claimed an inability to recall the events of that night.
Multiple FIRs have been registered in connection with the accident after the crime branch’s investigation revealed an elaborate plot to shield the teen accused.
