The Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station has arrested a man and woman, Mihir Gandhi, 27, and Minakshi Salunkhe, 23, for performing a dangerous stunt to create a viral reel atop a dilapidated temple building, an official reported on Friday. A third person involved in filming the stunt remains at large.
Senior Inspector Dashrath Patil of the Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station stated, “After receiving information about the video, we conducted investigations and managed to trace them. They were summoned to the police station late last night and placed under arrest. We have charged them under IPC Section 336 and others.”
Due to the minor nature of the offense, which carries a jail term of less than six months or a fine, or both, Gandhi and Salunkhe will not be remanded to custody, Patil added.
Earlier this week, residents of Pune were alarmed by a viral video showing the boy and girl, along with an unidentified reel-maker, performing a daring and dangerous act on an abandoned temple roof. Gandhi was seen lying at the edge of the roof while Salunkhe, laughing, gingerly got down, grabbed his hand, and dangled mid-air from a height equivalent to at least a 10-story building.

The background showed the significant drop below the building, highlighting the danger as speeding vehicles were seen on a road nearby. The reel quickly went viral, drawing angry responses from the public who demanded strict punishment for the duo for endangering their lives and setting a dangerous example for others, especially youngsters.
Patil noted that the police are actively searching for the third accomplice who filmed the reel on his mobile phone and expressed hope that he would be apprehended soon.
