During the Red Sea International Film Festival in December 2024, Priyanka Chopra reflected on her experience working on the 2006 film Don, where she starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan. She shared insights into her preparation for the role of Roma, emphasizing the importance of focusing on one’s craft over personal relationships on set.

Priyanka revealed that she underwent extensive training in Tai Chi to authentically portray her character’s action sequences. Director Farhan Akhtar envisioned her introduction scene to exude grace, prompting her to diligently learn the martial art. She stated, “I took Tai Chi classes and worked really hard to perfect it because I wanted to do it right.’’

Amid Priyanka’s portrayal of Roma in Don and its 2011 sequel, Don 2, rigorous preparation for Don marked a turning point in Priyanka’s career, igniting her passion for action roles.

She remarked, “A lot of training went into the action sequences in Don, and I tasted blood a little bit. I look really good with a weapon in my hand defending my country; what can I say?”

She will not be reprising her role in the upcoming Don 3. The third part, directed by Farhan Akhtar, is set to reboot the franchise with Ranveer Singh as the new Don and Kiara Advani as the female lead. Priyanka Chopra’s reflections underscore her dedication to her craft and the evolution of her approach to acting, highlighting the significance of professional focus and preparation in achieving excellence.
