In a chilling revelation amid the ongoing investigation into the brutal murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy, sources have disclosed that actor Pavithra Gowda was present at the scene during the victim’s torture. The incident, involving actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his associates, has shocked the public with its gruesome details.
Renukaswamy, hailing from Chitradurga, was abducted on June 8 and transported nearly 200 km to a shed in Bengaluru by several suspects linked to the case. It was there that he faced a savage assault, including beatings with sticks and electric shocks, allegedly orchestrated due to obscene social media posts directed at Pavithra Gowda, a close associate of Darshan Thoogudeepa said.
According to sources, Pavithra Gowda was seen at the location for a portion of the ordeal. The motivation behind the crime, according to media reports, stemmed from her urging Darshan Thoogudeepa to take action against Renukaswamy for his online behaviour.
The autopsy report of Renukaswamy cited “shock hemorrhage from multiple blunt injuries” as the cause of death, noting severe injuries such as ruptured testicles and a missing ear.
The police have made significant strides in the case, arresting 17 individuals, including the two actors. Sources allege that Darshan Thoogudeepa may have paid up to Rs 50 lakh to his accomplices for their roles in the crime.
A substantial portion of this amount, Rs 30 lakh, reportedly went to a man identified as Pradosh alias Pawan, who oversaw the kidnapping, murder, and disposal of Renukaswamy’s body.

Additionally, Rs 5 lakh was purportedly allocated to the families of two men, Raghavendra and Karthik, to secure false confessions and divert attention from the actors.
Initially, some of the accused confessed to the crime as planned but later divulged the involvement of the actors during police interrogation.
Police investigators have recovered crucial evidence including CCTV footage and footwear worn by Darshan Thoogudeepa and Pavithra Gowda on the day of the murder. While Pavithra Gowda remains in judicial custody, Darshan Thoogudeepa’s detention was extended by two days as of Thursday.
The case has sparked widespread outrage and demands for justice as authorities continue their efforts to unravel the full extent of the crime and prosecute all involved parties.
