Patna: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday conducted raids at premises of an under construction mall belonging to RJD leader and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav in Gurugram and properties belonging to the other party leaders in Patna in connection with the ‘land-for-jobs’ scam. The investigation agency’s action has taken place on the day when the recently formed JD (U) – RJD government has to go for floor test at the state assembly.

According to the reports, several teams of CBI reached at homes of RJD leaders early morning in which Rajya Sabha MPs Ahmad Ashfaque Karim and Dr Faiyaz Ahmad and a Member of Legislative Council (MLC) in Bihar Sunil Singh are included. The CBI has been probing allegations of irregularities during the tenure of Lalu Prasad Yadav as Railway Minister in Manmohan Singh government.

Slamming the CBI’s action, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi said that they are scared because of the unity of JD (U) and RJD. She said that since they are united in the state, BJP is trying to scare them. “We will not be scared at all. This is not happening for the first time,” she added.

Reacting over the development, Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav said he will reply on the floor of the house of Bihar Assembly.

The other party leaders have also made sharp reactions over the CBI’s raid on the day when the government will prove its majority in the assembly. “Raids have been conducted with very much intention to scare MLAs of Mahagathbandhan. BJP is trying to scare them so they could join them,” said a senior RJD leader.

Another leader tweeted that the BJP is furious due to loss of power in Bihar. They wanted to take revenge by using CBI and ED against RJD leaders. He said that despite the action, party leaders will not be divided.

The BJP leaders however justified the raids. They said that raids are being conducted against some ‘notorious’ politicians. He claimed that RDJ workers are also happy with this action.
