A tragic accident in the Goregaon area of Mumbai claimed the life of a 24-year-old milk distributor in the early hours of Thursday. The incident occurred around 4 am in the Aarey Colony, when a speeding SUV, driven by a 17-year-old boy, collided with the victim’s two-wheeler.
The victim, identified as Navin Vaishnaw, was on his usual milk distribution route when the accident occurred. According to police reports, a Mahindra Scorpio SUV, which was being driven on the wrong side of the road, struck Vaishnaw’s two-wheeler. The force of the collision proved fatal for Vaishnaw, who succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The teenage driver attempted to flee the scene after the collision but was apprehended by police after the SUV crashed into an electric pole. The driver sustained injuries during the crash and was caught by the authorities.

Given the driver’s age, a case has been registered not only against him but also against the SUV’s owner, Iqbal Jivani, 48, and his son, Mohammed Faz Iqbal Jivani, 21. The police are investigating whether the teenage driver had been partying with friends before the incident. His blood samples have been sent to a laboratory to determine whether he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
This incident is a stark reminder of the dangers posed by reckless driving, particularly by underage individuals. The investigation is ongoing, and the authorities are expected to take further action based on the results of the blood test and other findings.
