India has extended invitations to numerous leaders from neighbouring nations to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi, slated to assume the Prime Minister’s office for a third consecutive term. The event is scheduled for Sunday, June 9, at 7:15 pm at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Simultaneously, the Council of Ministers will also take their oaths of office and secrecy, marking the formation of the new cabinet under the Prime Minister’s leadership.
As per the Ministry of External Affairs, several leaders have confirmed their attendance and will arrive in New Delhi on Sunday to partake in the ceremony.

As SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) leaders prepare to attend the event, the national capital is poised on high alert, informed Delhi Police. Precautionary measures have been heightened around major hotels like the Leela, Taj, ITC Maurya, Claridge’s, and Oberoi. Safe transit routes have been meticulously organized for the dignitaries’ travel between their accommodations and the venue.
“Dignitaries attending the swearing-in will be given designated routes from their hotels to the venue and back,” officials clarified.
In addition to their participation in the swearing-in ceremony, these esteemed leaders will partake in a banquet hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the same evening. The banquet is poised to foster substantial interactions and discussions, thereby fortifying regional ties among SAARC member nations.
