Madhya Pradesh Fridge Murder: In Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, a shocking crime has emerged. Sanjay Patidar, a 41-year-old man, has been taken into custody for the murder of his 35-year-old partner, Pratibha alias Pinky Prajapati.  Authorities found her decomposed body hidden in a refrigerator in their rented home, where it had remained for more than six months.

Sanjay and Pratibha had been in a live-in relationship for five years. They started out in Ujjain but eventually settled in Dewas. Things took a dark turn when Pratibha started urging Sanjay, who was already married, to get married to her.

In March 2024, their disagreements reached a breaking point. During a heated argument, Sanjay, with some help from his friend Vinod Dave, allegedly killed Pratibha by strangling her. They then bound her hands and hid her body in a refrigerator set to the lowest temperature.

Tenant’s Complaint Exposes Hidden Crime

In June 2024, after the murder, Sanjay locked the room and left the property, abandoning the refrigerator with the body inside. Every two weeks, he came back to make sure the body was still hidden and no one had found it.

It wasn’t until January 10, 2025, that the situation changed. Balveer Rajput, a new tenant in the building, caught a whiff of something unpleasant from the locked room’s refrigerator. Curious, he took a look, which led to the discovery of the body and a swift call to the police.

Forensic Experts Uncover Shocking Evidence

Sanjay was caught and he admitted to his wrongdoing while being questioned. The police are working with officials in Rajasthan to question his partner in crime, Vinod Dave, who is locked up in Tonk district in a different offense. Forensic specialists have collected evidence from the crime scene, and an autopsy has been carried out.

This situation reminds people of the 2022 murder of Shraddha Walkar in Delhi, where her partner kept her body in a refrigerator before getting rid of it in pieces. These events raise alarms about domestic violence and the absence of protections for those in live-in relationships, emphasizing the importance of acting quickly in abusive situations. The authorities are still looking into the case, aiming to bring justice to the victim and to stop such terrible things from happening again.
