Nag Ashwin’s highly anticipated film, Kalki 2898 AD, made a spectacular debut in the theatres on Thursday, raking in an impressive Rs 95.3 crore on its opening day as a part of its box office collection.
The film continued its strong performance on Friday, adding Rs 54 crore to its tally, bringing the total India net collection to Rs 149.3 crore, as reported by Sacnilk.

Tamil: Rs 3.5 crore
Hindi Dub: Rs 22.5 crore
Kannada: Rs 0.35 crore

The film features an all-star cast, including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani. Released in multiple languages on June 27, Kalki 2898 AD has quickly become a box office sensation.
In early trends, Kalki 2898 AD and Prabhas fans had said that the film has resonated well with audiences. According to Sacnilk, the film was projected to collect Rs 200 crore worldwide on its opening day.
In India, by then it had already garnered approximately Rs 25.02 crore across various languages.

In Mumbai, ticket prices for Kalki 2898 AD had reached as high as Rs 2,300, thetheorist.in had reported.
Addressing the high ticket prices, film distributor Akshay Rathi had explained, “The ticket pricing and programming entirely depend on the basic economy of the law of demand and supply. The spectrum of the pricing in Mumbai of the movie Kalki ranges from Rs 120 to Rs 2,300. You are paying not just for the movie but the experience of watching the movie.”
On the opening day, to celebrate the big day, fans flocked to theatres for early morning shows in Hyderabad. From dancing to dhol beats to creating a colossal cutout of Prabhas’ poster, they were seen pulling out all the stops.
