Jharkhand Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari has instructed officials to expedite the implementation of various schemes supported by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in the state. During a review meeting, she emphasized that timely completion of these projects is crucial for availing the full benefits of NABARD loans. She also stressed the need to enhance the progress of slow-moving projects while prioritizing those that can be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
The Chief Secretary was presiding over the High-Power Committee meeting on Thursday to assess the progress of Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) and other related projects. A detailed discussion was held on the gap between sanctioned loan withdrawals and remaining funds. Additionally, potential projects for the financial year 2025-26 were deliberated upon.
Key Highlights of the Review Meeting
For the financial year 2024-25, a total of 500 projects worth Rs 2,921.79 crore are in various stages of implementation, with Rs 1,839.39 crore either sanctioned or under process.
Drinking Water & Sanitation Department: Out of 18 drinking water projects worth Rs 1,137.53 crore, loans amounting to Rs 976.96 crore have been sanctioned.
Water Resources Department: The Palamu Lift Irrigation Project worth Rs 365.30 crore has been approved for a Rs 308 crore loan, while the Pirtaand Mega Lift Irrigation Project, valued at Rs 511.36 crore, has secured a Rs 461.53 crore loan.

Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Cooperation Department: For the construction of 369 warehouses and marketing centers, a project worth Rs 103.66 crore, a loan approval of Rs 92.85 crore has been granted.
Rural Works Department: The department has a rural bridge construction project valued at Rs 803.94 crore, with loans worth Rs 271.35 crore under process for 124 bridge constructions.
Progress of Key Infrastructure Projects
The Road Construction Department has completed 22 out of 34 projects, worth Rs 1,088.36 crore, while 12 projects are nearing completion.
The Water Resources Department is executing major irrigation projects worth Rs 2,873 crore, of which four major projects are nearing completion.
