In line with the directives of Hon’ble Chief Minister Hemant Soren, large-scale recruitments are being conducted across Jharkhand. As part of this initiative, the Chief Minister distributed appointment letters to 289 candidates at the second-floor auditorium of the Project Building under the Urban Development and Housing Department in Ranchi on Tuesday.
Addressing the newly appointed candidates, Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore expressed confidence in their ability to achieve success through hard work. He urged them to work with honesty and dedication in every sector of governance and contribute meaningfully to the state’s progress.
He emphasized that Chief Minister Hemant Soren is committed to fulfilling the purpose behind Jharkhand’s formation by strengthening urban and rural economies and improving social security measures. The government is working tirelessly to develop rural areas and enhance urban infrastructure, striving to make Jharkhand a state of youth empowerment.
Industry Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav, addressing the event, stated that a new chapter in Jharkhand’s development is being written. He encouraged the newly appointed candidates to take an oath to work for public welfare and ensure that every Jharkhandi has a reason to smile. He reiterated that the Chief Minister envisions positioning Jharkhand among the leading states, focusing on youth employment and their bright future.

Urban Development Minister Sudivya Kumar highlighted that 289 candidates were receiving appointment letters from the Project Building. He acknowledged the rapid pace of urbanization, emphasizing the need for stronger urban infrastructure to accommodate people migrating from rural areas in search of better education and healthcare.

He expressed satisfaction that, despite political challenges, the government successfully provided employment opportunities under Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s leadership. He advised the newly appointed employees to embrace their roles responsibly and contribute to public service with efficiency and integrity.
Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari reaffirmed the government’s dedication to urban development, pointing out that a quarter of the state’s population resides in cities, which are the face of progress. She highlighted infrastructure challenges such as roads, drainage, and transportation and urged the newly appointed candidates to play an active role in strengthening urban systems. She also noted that, for the first time, the current government is appointing Assistant Town Planners to meet urban planning demands.
Urban Development and Housing Department Appoints 289 Candidates
A total of 289 candidates received appointment letters for various positions, including Garden Superintendent (9), Veterinary Officer (8), Sanitary & Food Inspector (12), Sanitary Supervisor (42), Revenue Inspector (174), and Legal Assistant (44).

The Jharkhand government has been consistently recruiting across various departments. Earlier, 491 candidates were appointed under the Urban Development and Housing Department, covering positions such as Executive Officer, Assistant Municipal Commissioner, Special Officer, Assistant Town Planner, Accounts Officer, Junior Engineers, Street Light Inspectors, and Pipeline Inspectors.
The event was graced by the presence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, SUDA Director Amit Kumar, Additional Secretary Gyanendra Kumar, along with officials from various departments and the newly appointed candidates.
