The Indian cricket team has arrived at the NCPA (National Centre for the Performing Arts) to kick off their open-top bus victory parade, which will take them from Marine Drive all the way to the Wankhede Stadium. The team was warmly welcomed upon their arrival at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

Meeting with PM Narendra Modi
Earlier in the morning, the team met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. This meeting was part of their celebratory schedule, which includes several events throughout the day.

Felicitation Function
The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) will hold a felicitation function at the Wankhede Stadium. Fans are welcome to attend this event, with entry being free on a first-come, first-served basis. The gates at the Wankhede Stadium opened at 4 pm.
Traffic and Vehicular Restrictions
In Mumbai, the traffic police have closed seven roads in South Mumbai for the victory parade. Parking is prohibited on ten roads. Fans and commuters should plan accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
Journey from Barbados
The Indian team faced delays due to a hurricane in Barbados but were flown out of the West Indies on a specially-arranged charter flight. The team flew from Barbados to New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Air India flight AIC24WC (Air India Champions 24 World Cup), departing around 4:50 am local time on Wednesday and arriving in Delhi at 6 am IST on Thursday after a 16-hour non-stop journey.
Victory Over South Africa
Team India clinched the T20 World Cup by defeating South Africa by seven runs in the final held in Bridgetown last Saturday.
