According to the NDTV’s poll of exit polls, the BJP is likely to win the Delhi Assembly Election 2025 by a thin margin of six seats. Fresh data from Today’s Chanakya, Axis My India, and CNX, released Thursday evening, predicts a return to power in the national capital for the first time since 1998.
BJP’s Projected Victory in Delhi
The Axis My India poll expects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party to secure between 45 and 55 of Delhi’s 70 seats, while CNX is even more optimistic, predicting a BJP victory with 49 to 61 seats.
The ruling AAP is projected to win 15-25 seats, according to Axis My India, and 10-19 seats, as per CNX. Meanwhile, Today’s Chanakya forecasts 51 seats for the BJP and 19 for AAP.
Exit Poll Trends and Congress’ Decline
A major takeaway from all 12 exit polls is the continued decline of the Congress, which is expected to win just one seat at best. The updated poll of exit polls now predicts the BJP winning 42 of 70 seats—six more than required to form the government—while AAP is expected to secure 27 seats, marking a significant drop from its landslide victories in 2015 (67 seats) and 2020 (62 seats).

Despite the grim predictions, the AAP has firmly rejected the exit poll results. AAP leader Sushil Gupta said, “This is our fourth election… every time exit polls did not show AAP winning, but Arvind Kejriwal has worked for the people of Delhi. We will see the results in favour of AAP and we will form the government.”
The Congress and AAP were expected to form an alliance in the run-up to the Delhi polls, similar to their national-level coalition. However, the alliance did not materialize, mirroring the events of last year’s Haryana elections, where Congress leaders refused to collaborate with AAP. The Congress was ultimately defeated in Haryana as well.
Exit Poll Analysis and Projections
Among the 10 exit polls released last night, seven also predicted a decisive victory for the BJP. People’s Pulse, Poll Diary, and People’s Insights estimated a BJP win with seat counts ranging from 40 to 60.

Chanakya Strategies, DV Research, JVC, and P-Marq also predicted BJP wins, while two exit polls—WeePreside and Mind Brink—offered projections favoring AAP, estimating 46-52 and 44-49 seats, respectively. Matrize remains undecided, giving the BJP 35-40 seats and AAP 32-37.
Final Countdown to Results
Delhi’s 70 constituencies voted in a single phase on Wednesday, and vote counting is set to take place on Saturday. The political landscape of the national capital is poised for a major shift, with exit polls strongly indicating a BJP resurgence after more than two decades.
