Political battle between BJP and AAP
This stance coincides with allegations from the opposition Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) regarding the BJP’s connections with the Action Committee of Unaided Private Schools, which has opposed the AAP government’s position on fee hikes. Former Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj claimed that Bharat Arora, president of the Association of Unaided Private Schools and a BJP office-bearer, actively campaigned for the Chief Minister ahead of the Assembly polls. He alleged that following the BJP’s rise to power, reports of school fee hikes began to surface.
In response, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva accused AAP leaders of disseminating false narratives. Sachdeva pointed out that out of more than 1,650 private schools in Delhi, the previous AAP government audited only 75 in a year, allowing many schools to substantially raise fees without proper oversight. Sachdeva criticized former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leaders for allegedly spreading misinformation on social media and attempting to gain political advantage by highlighting the school fee hike issue.
