Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently out on bail to campaign for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, responded sharply to a Pakistani leader’s comment on his social media post.

Arvind Kejriwal, who voted in the national capital on Friday alongside his father, wife and children, shared a photograph on the platform ‘X’, formerly known as Twitter, after casting his vote. “My father, wife and both my children voted. My mother could not come today as she is very ill. I have voted against inflation and unemployment,” he wrote.

Pakistani Minister Fawad Hussain responded to the post by Arvind Kejriwal, stating, “May peace and harmony defeat forces of hate and extremism.” In a pointed reply, Arvind Kejriwal advised Hussain to focus on Pakistan’s issues rather than interfering in India’s internal matters.

“We are fully capable of handling our issues. The situation of Pakistan is very poor now, so you should take care of your country,” Arvind Kejriwal asserted. He further emphasised, “Elections are our internal matter. India will not tolerate interference by the biggest sponsors of terrorism.”

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju seized the opportunity to take a jab at Kejriwal, claiming he has significant support from Pakistan. “I’ve told you, not only Rahul Gandhi but Arvind Kejriwal has got massive support in Pakistan,” Rijiju posted.

Today’s voting spans eight seats each in Bihar and Bengal, seven in Delhi, ten in Haryana, four in Jharkhand, fourteen in Uttar Pradesh, and the final seat in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag-Rajouri, which was shifted from the third to the sixth phase.

The counting of votes is scheduled for June 4, following the conclusion of the final phase of the election on June 1.
