The student in Class 3 had been missing since Sunday, and his father had reported her missing to the nearby police station. He had informed the police that the girl was having fun at Muchumarri Park, but never got back to his house. She could not be located even after the police conducted a search and questioned residents of the area.

Police found the three minor boys thanks to a sniffer dog. One of them studies in Class 7 and is 13 years old, and the other two are students of Class 6. The girl attended the same school as the other three students. According to police, the boys confessed to raping and killing the girl.

The accused have let police know that they had seen the young lady playing in the recreation area. She was then taken to a remote location near the Muchumarri dam, where they each raped her. The boys have told police that they killed the girl and threw her body in a nearby canal out of concern that they might be in trouble if the girl told her parents about the assault.

Sub-Inspector Jayshekhar of the Muchumarri police station said that because the girl’s body hasn’t been found yet, the case is still being considered a missing persons investigation.
