AC Blast: A shocking video capturing the aftermath of a severe fire at the Gaur City 1 apartment in Greater Noida has gone viral on social media. Shared on X, the video reveals the extensive damage caused by thick black residue from smoke and ash that enveloped the entire flat. The fire reportedly started due to the explosion of an air-conditioning unit, attributed to the intense summer heat.

The caption of the video read, “The AC burst and then nothing was left in the flat. This picture of Gaur City-1 of Greater Noida West really makes one wonder why ACs are bursting every day. I had never heard of such a thing before this summer.” The incident caused widespread panic among residents.
According to reports, goods worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the blaze. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.
Reacting to the video, one user commented in Hindi, “The government got all the trees cut down. There are factories from all over the world around here. It’s too hot. In order to build flats and factories the forests here have been destroyed. Here fire is raining not only during the day but also at night.”

Another user wrote, “Now AC is proving to be very fatal. I have heard many such incidents in recent times. What could be the reason?”

Another user said, “This is the result of tampering with nature and environment. Trees have been sacrificed to create concrete jungles and now humans are suffering the consequences.”
The incident has raised concerns about the safety and quality of air-conditioning units in India, especially during the summer months. According to data from fire departments in Delhi’s satellite towns, between April 1 and June 5, there were 32 reported fires in Ghaziabad and 85 in Noida, all caused by short circuits and AC explosions. During the same period, Delhi reported 12 similar incidents.
As the video continues to gain traction online, it highlights the urgent need for stringent safety checks and regulations for household appliances to prevent such devastating incidents in the future.
