India clinched a spot in the Super Eight stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup following a commanding seven-wicket victory against co-hosts USA in New York. The win sets the stage for an anticipated showdown with Australia. India’s flawless performance in the tournament, having triumphed over Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA, leaves them undefeated with one more group stage match remaining.
Scheduled to face Canada at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida on Saturday (June 15), the Men in Blue have showcased their prowess, building anticipation for their upcoming clash with Australia in T20 world Cup.
Meanwhile, the reigning champions of the 2021 edition, Australia, have displayed dominance akin to India. Led by Mitchell Marsh, the Australian squad has secured victories in all their matches, illustrating their supremacy in the tournament.
Their campaign commenced with a convincing 39-run win against Oman, followed by a 36-run victory over their arch-rivals, England. The Kangaroos further solidified their position with a resounding nine-wicket triumph over Namibia, propelling them into the Super Eight stage.
In a departure from previous ICC tournaments, the participants of the current edition were pre-seeded based on their T20I rankings. India, entering as the top-ranked team, was seeded as A1 in Group A, while Australia, ranked below England, entered as B2.

As per the pre-seeding, India is slated to face Australia on June 24 at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Luciain T20 world Cup. The commencement of the Super Eight stage will witness a clash between A2 and South Africa at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua.
